NATIONAL CERTIFICATE VOCATIONAL (NCV) ADMISSION

For admission to a BSc degree (4 years) the applicant must have:

A NCV (level 4) issued by the Council for General and Further Education and Training.

Achieved a minimum of 70% for 5 of the 7 subjects – fundamental and vocational categories.

Passed English as Language of Teaching and Learning / First Additional Language as fundamental component with a

minimum of 70%.

Passed Mathematics and Physical Sciences as Fundamental Components with a minimum score of 70%.

For admission to a National Diploma (4 years) the applicant must have:

A NCV (level 4) issued by the Council for General and Further Education and Training.

Achieved a minimum of 60% for 6 of the 7 subjects – fundamental and vocational categories.

Passed English as Language of Teaching and Learning/First Additional Language as fundamental component with a

minimum of 70%.

Passed Mathematics and Physical Sciences as Fundamental Components with a minimum score of 60%.

NATIONAL SENIOR CERTIFICATE FOR ADULTS (NASCA) ADMISSION

The admission requirements for applicants holding the National Senior Certificate for Adults (NASCA) or the

Amended Senior Certificate (SC(a)) for qualifications in the Faculty of Science.

For both the NASCA and SC(a) for admission to a programme in the Faculty of Science the Senate Discretionary Approval

process will be followed.

Applications will be dealt with by the Faculty Teaching and Learning Committee for recommendation to the Faculty Board.

Faculty Board will then refer the approved applications to Senate for Senate Discretionary approval.
